Brumbies Ready to Stampede

The Penrith and Districts Junior Rugby League Competition kicks off this month and our very own Glenmore Park Brumbies are ready to hit the ground running!

This year will see the Brumbies 28th season in the junior league competition, since their first year back in 1994. Since their humble beginnings, they have grown to 400-500 players fielding around 35 teams ahead of the 2021 season.

With pre-season training done and trial games now over, the club is expecting a big year ahead.

“This season is set to be a cracker of a year. After COVID last season, Penrith Junior League have worked hard and are introducing many new options. This includes the competition having more rounds. There will be an Under 5’s age group this year with their very own ‘Superhero’ round and our Under 6 age group will be able to play on the Panthers Stadium fields under lights” explained Craig Campbell, President of Glenmore Park Brumbies J.R.L.F.C.

The 2021 season will be Campbell’s first year as President of the Glenmore Park Brumbies, and he already enjoys his role with the popular local sporting club.

“Being a part of the Brumbies is like extending our family. The way that our community gets together and supports each other is amazing. Everything from ensuring all the players are able to train and play each week, mowing the playing fields, setting up early in the morning, cooking the BBQ and being great spectators is inspiring. It is an honour to watch” said Craig to the Glenmore Gazette.

The Brumbies are a non-profit organisation and they rely upon the hard work of volunteers and our local businesses to support them.

“We are always looking for new businesses to partner with. There are a few ways you can assist the club and no matter how big or small the offering; it is greatly appreciated by everyone in our Brumby family” Craig ended.
