Local mother Jessica King would like to invite the community to get behind her for an important cause, as she takes part in this year’s World’s Greatest Shave in Wallacia next month.
Jessica will be holding a special event at Wallacia Public School on Monday 13th May at 2:40pm, where she will have her head shaved to raise valuable funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
“The reason I am taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave is because I have lost family and friends close to me through Cancer. Knowing that I could never bring them back, I wanted to do more, and this just pushed me harder to do this. I wanted to make people more aware of what they can do to help, so I decided to be brave and shave” explained Jessica to the Mulgoa Valley Gazette.
Jessica’s goal in the World’s Greatest Shave is to raise $850 or more. She has already raised over $400 thanks to the kindness and generosity of her donators.
She has also set up donation boxes at Wallacia Takeaway, Wallacia Public School. BP Wallacia and Bean Cruis’n West (the mobile café that is parked next to Wallacia Post Office most mornings).
“I would like to thank everyone for all their love and support so far, especially my partner who has been a huge supporter. The thought of losing my hair hasn’t been easy” said Jessica.
