The Fairlight Art Trail is on again! Visitors can meet the artists and peruse the wonderful art works on display. Why not make a day of it with lunch or afternoon tea at a local café or take a walk to the Rock Lookout or Riley’s Mountain?

The artists have been joined by a new member this year. Malle Morley’s (350 Fairlight Road) art practice covers a wide range of subject matters and approaches to her main underlying theme of “empathy”. She paints abstracts as well as figurative works, and clearly has a love of drawing, expressing her attachment to the theme. www.mallemorley.com

Many of you will be familiar with Di Watson’s rustic country studio (74 Fairlight Road) where her wonderful photography showcases nature and landscapes. Di also works tirelessly for farmers with the “Buy A Bale” scheme and her beautiful calendars will be available for purchase to aid with this cause. www.diwatsonphotography.ifp3.com

Shirley Peters (185 Park River Close), recent winner of the Blackheath and Fairfield art prizes, is also becoming famous for her excellent, action packed Le Tour de France sketches. Her powerful landscapes and seascapes vary from a loose brush style to detailed realism: “Fast and slow” art. www.shirleypeters.com

John Rice (29 Fairlight Road) paints landscapes and seascapes in the traditional style in oils and principally from life. Whether it is a majestic gum on an inland river, the atmospheric Blue Mountains or the deserts of Central Australia his focus is on the light. John has been the winner of many awards over the years and his paintings are held in collections around Australia and abroad. He is an exhibiting member of the Royal Art Society of NSW. www.johnricegallery.bigcartel.com
