On Sunday 16th June, the ever popular Jonnie Russell Show will again be presented at the local Llandilo Community Hall in Llandilo.

It will mark the 45th anniversary of the very first Country Variety Show that was held in the Music Room of the Sydney Opera House in May 1974.

That show featured comedy mime artist Terry Power and Jonnie himself with The Jonnie Russell Band. It was compered by Greg Evans, who would later become host of the popular TV shows Perfect Match and Blind Date.

Jonnie’s June concert at Llandilo will feature talented Kareena Spiteri from the South Coast, along with the ever-popular Bobby Silk, performing his Slim Whitman songs as well as other popular Hank Williams favourites.

Some of Australia’s best musicians have been included in the line-up of the new Jonnie Russell band, including Daniel O’Dell on guitar, Rob Sparks on drums, Lance Link on slap double bass, TC Brown on keyboard and Chicka Davis on blues harp.

The cost is just $15 at the door. Patrons who are intending to come along are advised to please be early to avoid disappointment. Doors open at 12:30pm for 1:00pm showtime.
