The communities of Silverdale and Warragamba were well represented at the 2023 Wollondilly Local Business Awards, with three businesses announced as best in their categories and winning awards.

Held at The Manor in Club Menangle recently, In-Motion Danceworks from Silverdale won Outstanding Performing Arts. From Warragamba, Pietro Italian Restaurant won Outstanding Restaurant and Dam Break won Outstanding Café, respectively.

Winning the awards was a proud achievement for the local businesses and their hard working and dedicated teams.
“All our team were super excited and proud of ourselves for winning this award. It’s a great feeling to be acknowledged for all the hard work we all put in.

“It means the world to us knowing that what we do makes a difference within our community. In-Motion Danceworks has been running for 29 years and we have never put ourselves forward for any type of award, so to not only be nominated but then go on to win is amazing” said Rebecca Elliott of In-Motion Danceworks.

“To win the award last year was a huge confidence booster to my team and I but to win it back to back is truly humbling.

“It shows that our mandate of providing quality food, good service and treating our customers like family as a business plan is working and is the fundamental foundation of our business,” explained Anthony Penna of Pietro Italian Restaurant.

“Winning the award for Most Outstanding Café was very exciting, but more than that it was extremely satisfying. Our whole team take great pride in setting the bar high, for service and quality. Receiving this felt like a big thank you.

We’re all very proud to bring this award back to Warragamba,” stated Jo and Steven Inglis of Dam Break Café.

They would like to thank the community for their support.

“The main reason that I enjoy running my business in Silverdale and surrounding areas is the fact that our locals are always so supportive of not only us as a business, but their children.

“Thank you to everyone for their ongoing support over the past 29 years,” said Rebecca.

“I would like to say a massive thankyou to my wife Michelle and our three beautiful daughters for their support, all of my Junior Staff, both of my Head Chefs Allan and Tej, and my Chef De Partie Khyle. Special mention to our Restaurant Manager and two time youth of business award finalist Chantel for all her efforts. Last but certainly not least, to the people of our community and abroad for your continued support, thank you” Anthony reflected.

“The last 4 years serving the local community have been an absolute pleasure. They have made us feel very welcome. Some call us family. Thank you to all,” ended Jo and Steven.

Best of luck to all three businesses, as they progress to the next round of awards.
