Town Centre Retailers Shine at Local Business Awards
Retailers at Glenmore Park Town Centre continue to grow in strength, by being recognised and awarded at the 2020 Penrith City Local Business Awards held in Penrith on Wednesday 21st September.
Most Outstanding Jeweller category was awarded to Viola Jewellers. Viola Jewellers was born from a long line of third generation jewellers, which started in the Middle East in 1890. Having been in operation in Sydney since 1982, in September 2019 they opened a store at Glenmore Park Town Centre.
“We consider our customers to be the most important part of our business, which is why we measure our success on the happiness of our customers. Each time we repair an old family heirloom or replace a beloved jewellery item, the happiness and joy the customer expresses makes our business more successful than any other thing. It is a great honour to be awarded, having only been a part of the Glenmore Park community for such a short time” said Haitham Zamil (Owner).
The Shed Café was awarded Most Outstanding Café. The Shed Café has been operated by its current owner for close to 2 years and the business has evolved into a seamlessly run café under its new ownership.
“Presenting quality food and beverages at attractive prices is our passion. We have developed tailored menu items to suit the community, engaging with customers and building community relationships has led to our successful growth.
Being awarded Most Outstanding Café is a proud moment for us, but I couldn’t have done it without the support of our wonderful team” said Carolanne Brennan (Owner).
Carolanne Brennan, Owner of The Shed Café, was awarded Business Person of the Year. Carolanne has shown a great commitment to her franchise, staff, customers, and the local community by striving to grow and evolve during COVID. Tailoring her business to suit the needs of the community by taking the opportunity to think outside the square, adapt to the new environment and in turn flourish under difficult circumstances. Carolanne has developed a sustainability program within her café with reduced use of packaging as well as food scraps being turned into compost and donated to local schools for their gardening and agriculture programs. A contactless method of drive thru carpark service has also been developed by Carolanne and proved to be a fruitful endeavour for the business.
