Danielle and Damien Sultana have lived in Glenmore Park for over 15 years and love the community spirit, especially at Christmas. With three growing sons – Nicholas, 12; Dominic, 11; Benjamin, 7; and a young daughter, Amelia, 3; it is no wonder that the house is decked out with Christmas lights and is a highlight each year for their family. Although they love the light displays, Christmas for the Sultana family is most importantly about celebrating the birth of Jesus
Christ and opening their hearts and home to celebrate with friends and loved ones.
Christmas is a crazy, busy but wonderful time of year for the Sultana family. In addition to catching up with over one hundred of Damien’s extended family, two of the children celebrate birthdays in December which, according to Danielle, means that pretty much the whole of December is about celebrating and eating way too much food!
As Danielle is a nurse at Nepean Hospital, she works Christmas Day every second year but tries to work a night shift so that she can spend as much of the day with the family. This year she is blessed to be on holidays and excited to spend the whole day celebrating with her loved ones. One of their favourite traditions is on Christmas Eve when the children receive a giftbox which has new pyjamas, a Christmas movie and some snacks. As a family, they watch the movie in their new pjs whilst eating the snacks then they get in the car and drive around looking at all the beautifully decorated houses.
On Christmas Day this year, Danielle, Damien and the children plan to attend church at Glenmore Park Anglican Church, go to lunch at Danielle’s Mum’s house, followed by dinner at Damien’s parent’s house. What a special way to spend this joyous season!
