Local Glenmore Park group Taste of Everything (TOE) have given back to the community in one big, selfless act after making and donating items to Fernhill School with the grant that they received this year from Penrith City Council.

The women’s group used the money from the rolling grant they received to make items which included sensory blankets and pillows, weighted lap mats, squeeze balls, maze tunnels, children’s calendars and boards with locks and handles. These items were presented to the teachers and staff of Fernhill School at a special ceremony that took place last month.

Group members Martha and Beryl also treated the attendees to a morning tea that was enjoyed by all. Martha’s husband Stephen was responsible for making the boards with locks and handles and these proved to be a popular item to be used for sensory play.

Taste of Everything (TOE) are a group of women of all ages that come together to have a chat and a laugh. They meet on Thursdays at Floribunda Community Centre from 9:30am till 12:30pm. There is a cost of $5 per week, which goes towards morning tea.
