This month, on Monday the 11th of November is Remembrance Day. There will be a Remembrance Day memorial service held at the Warragamba Memorial Park at 10:45am and everyone is welcome.

Rose Carleo will be singing the Australian national anthem at the service. After the service, everyone is invited back to the Warragamba Workers Club for light refreshments.

The Warragamba ANZAC Committee are currently planning their next project to raise funds to purchase other war memorabilia. Last year saw the group unveil the six-foot bronze statue of the lone soldier, that now proudly adorns Warragamba Memorial Park.

The Committee have also asked that the local community are vigilant in keeping the Memorial Park safe, as items on the bronze statue have recently been removed.

“Each year, we have this service to pay our respects to all the fallen men and women we have lost at war. Without their sacrifice, we would not live in this beautiful country” said Hellen Dillon, member of the Warragamba ANZAC

Committee to the Mulgoa Valley Gazette.
