Close friends and Leonay Golf Club clubmates Andrew Carruthers and Reece Johnstone (both of Jordan Springs) have taken out one of the prestigious events on the Club calendar, winning the 2019 Division One Match-Play Title.

Carruthers and Johnstone had finished 5th in the Foursomes Stroke-Play Championships, to qualify for the Match-Play event, whilst opponents Daniel Worthy and Kris Zvirbulis were runners-up in the Stroke-Play Championships.

Both pairs won through their qualifying games to reach the Match-Play Final, with Carruthers and Johnstone outlasting Worthy and Zvirbulis to win on the 19th hole.

It’s been a good month in the Carruthers household, with 14-year old Coby recording both a Singles win, and a Team win with fellow Western Sydney Golf Academy team-mate Blake Hodges at Glenmore Heritage Valley Golf Club.
