“Every Child is an artist” – Pablo Picasso.
Education Week is an annual event to celebrate public education across NSW. The theme for 2019 is ‘Every Student, Every Voice’. To help celebrate Education Week, Surveyors Creek Public School will be hosting ‘Art By the Creek’ on August 7th 2019.
This mid-year art exhibition showcases the creative flair and achievements of each and every student across K-6 in the context of a school community event. This is the first art exhibition for Surveyors Creek Public School and includes over 500 artworks for viewing and sale. Student works include painting, filmmaking, sculpture, drawing and more. All family and community members are welcome to indulge in an evening of art, imagination, creativity and talent.
During Education Week, Surveyors Creek Public School runs a variety of fundraising events to help celebrate NSW public education and raise money for the school. ‘Art By the Creek’ is hoped to be an annual event on the school calendar that is widely supported by the local community to come together to celebrate dynamic teaching, leading and learning. These activities provided by the school foster critical and creative thinking as students improve artistic skills, analyse and evaluate peer works. The exhibition enhances social and emotional wellbeing as a relationship between school and home life is encouraged using the language of Art and Design.
When: Wednesday August 7th. Where: Surveyors Creek Public School Hall . When: 6:00pm to 7:30pm
